Miesje (Mesha) Taylor, a local Vancouver Artist, grew up on Vancouver Island and has been creating art in various forms and in a variety of mediums since childhood. For the last ten years Miesje has been focusing her creative talents to painting Acrylic on canvas.
Where we live, often have very gray days, so Miesje likes to paint in vibrant colors, her muse is often found in the nature around us. Pissarro and Monet influence this self-taught artist.
In this series “Inspired by the colors of Spring”, the artist is exploring abstract, and combining this technique with the impressionistic style she has developed.
The artist states; “In some of the more abstract pieces, I am trying to break each composition or subject idea down to its moment of captivation”. Depicting the initial attraction to the subject, literally painting the inspiration”.
Other pieces in this series became more demanding, requiring the elements of detail to complete the work. Allowing the blending of abstract to impressionistic”.
The objective of this series is to transport the viewer from the gray rainy Vancouver days, to the sunshine and color of the secret garden in this artist’s imagination.
Miesje Taylor’s art hangs in private collections through out the country. Other works can be viewed at buythisart.ca and click the artist link. To contact the Artist directly: miesje1@shaw.ca
